Before I delve into an actual description of the picture, I just wanna get something out of the way. I had orginally intended this picture to be dark, bloody, and you know, what Silent Hill is usually famed for. But seeing as how I can only use GIMP at the moment, the style of that art program is more cartoony than anything. So that, in term, is why this is more cartoon styled then actual gritty detail.
Warning: Do not read if you haven't yet finished Homecoming, for the following description contans spoliers.
After witnessing his Father being sliced in two by Pyramid Head's gargantuous blade, Alex descends down a flight of steps in pursuit of the creature-- Eventually leading him to an elevator deep underground. Upon reaching the elevator, Alex is surprised to find Certus aboard as well. Certus begins talking about how much he loved his job, but now he's found clarity. As this is being said however, Alex just stands in absolute silence until the lift reaches it's destination. As our unsuspecting soldier steps off the elevator, Certus lands a blow straight to his back with a hammer. Knocking him unconscious...
Once Alex awakes he finds himself restrained to a chair. He notices that Judge Holloway is in the same room as him and starts apologizing for losing Elle. Holloway, barely affected by his words at all, begins speaking of family and it's importance. Saying she'd do anything to protect them, even if it meant sacrificing her own daughter. She then talks about The founders and how they left the so-called "Order" to start a new life in Shepherd's Glen. But they feared the wrath of they're god, and decided to make a pact to keep the people safe. She goes on to tell that the only thing required to do so, was a small sacrifice... They're very own children.
The story goes that once every fifty years, the founding families make a offering to appease the God. It had to be one of their children, murdered by one of the families own hands. Holloway then tells about how she watched the light in her daughter eyes fade as she took her life. Knowing that the death would protect her family and Shepherd's Glen.
But someone had failed in carrying out that order. Alex's very own Father. Holloway (or Margaret) yells in anger at how that single mistake made all the towns sacrifices in vain. The pact with their god was broken, and people, cursed. The only hope they had was to revive the Order which their founders had abandon. She goes on to say that it isn't murder she done, but given life through rebirth.
Not a minute after she finishes speaking Certus makes an appearance. Holloway orders him to show Elle the error of her ways. The man obeys without hesitation and picks up a grizzly looking buzzsaw. With his weapon in hand, he immediately leaves the room.
Afterwards, Margaret walks over to one of the nearby tables and picks up a rusty drill. Seeing this, Alex tries to reason with her. pleading that there must be another way! Holloway however, only replies with "No, Alex. It's time I finished what your Father Couldn't."
Alex screams in agony as the drill is put into his left leg. Using every ounce of strength one can muster, he is able to break the restraints and knock his torturer away. Though this little victory doesn't last long, as Holloway prepares a fatel strike and rushes at him with the weapon. Alex is able to hold the drill back just inches away from his right eye and tries desperately to push it in Margarit's direction. After a few intense seconds of fighting between the two, Alex manages to shove the drill straight into Holloway's chin... Killing her quickly, but ever so painfully.
He then gets up from the chair, picks up his gear, and goes in search of Elle once more.
End of spoilers.
One note: I'm not really one for bashing art, but I know Alex came out looking like a hillbilly rather than a tough as nails soldier. And I'm also aware that the hand looks a more then just a little weird. But other then those flaws, didn't think it came out half bad. Enjoy!
Silent Hill Homecoming and characters are property of Konami. I do not own any of these characters or events.
First, I would like to say that this is a very good job. Good work on the restraints
Alex's face does look a little strange, but I've always found 3/4 profiles to be hard. Hell, I can barely draw people to begin with, so...yeah. I'll get around to working on that.
The Judge's hand looks great! It's bent just the way it was in-game.
I see what you mean about GIMP. Maybe you can get photoshop?
Also, one more question; do you have a tablet? I know it's a pain to draw w/ a mouse, and tablets can be expensive, but the Wacom Bamboo Fun is a great tool. It's a little tough getting used to, but believe me, it makes digital art much easier.
Nice work!

My, I haven't gotten a comment as nice as that in quite a long while. I deeply appreciate it!
And I do have Photoshop, but I guess I just don't have the patience for it. Figuring out all the nicknacks can prove very time-consuming. Just need a little experience is all.
And to answer your question, yes. I do have a tablet. And I agree. Using a tablet for art is a heck of alot easier than using the standard mouse. Though, it isn't without its difficulties. But then again, what method of art isn't?
That's true. My tablet liked to fuck up once in a while. That's frustrating >A<
You're welcome Keep practicing and you'll go far with that plastic square (on a pencil and paper, for that matter). It's like my baby, sadly enough
